Kinnaird College in Lahore is the premier women's college of Pakistan whcih was founded in 1913 and got the degree awarding status in 2002. Department of English at Kinnaird College is the first department of its kind in Pakistan in which academic programs in linguistics, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, are running sucessfully. Degrees of B.A Honors in Linguistics and M.Phil in Applied Linguistics are offered separate to degrees in English Literature.
